In honor of USAF SSgt Travis L. Griffin, 28, who was killed April 3, 2008 in the Rasheed district of Baghdad. Expect to run for approximately 18-23 minutes today. The backward runs are naturally awkward and will likely slow down the momentum of the workout. Because backward running puts weight on the balls of the feet, the movement will significantly tax the calves and quads making the second 800m run more challenging. Try to conserve energy during the backward runs in order to make up time and push an aggressive pace through the forward runs.
